The Chicago Bears QB Predicament

Post by Robby

If you follow the NFL, you know the Chicago Bears are a hot mess at quarterback. They give Mike Glennon 15 million a year and trade up to the #2 pick in the draft and draft Mitchell Trubisky. Nobody really understands and that's why I am here to give my opinion.

The Bears have two quarterbacks that can potentially be the starter in 2017. They tried to find there future quarterback in Glennon and paid him a contract I personally think he does not deserve. If you had to pick between 15 million or 3 million for a quarterback that is almost the same what would you pick? Assuming you like your money your probably going to pick 3 million. That is what you would have to pay for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Mike Glennon is not as good as Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick struggled last year because he was on the Jets. 2016 Jets roster is Brandon Marshall and a few other pieces. Glennon is a average quarterback at best and is not worth that money.

Trubisky is probably not worthy of the #2 pick in the draft. He started 13 games and led UNC to 8-5 record. He is lacking experience and could have his career ruined if he loses confidence as a starter after a Glennon injury.

Glennon did say he was impressed with Trubisky but does not think he will be ready for 2017. Glennon said Trubisky will receive help from himself which shows how Glennon can be a leader, even if not a great quarterback. Trubisky has athleticism that could be compared to Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr.

The Bears would be smart to start Glennon Week 1 and go to Trubisky Week 11 if Glennon is average or worse.

However, Victor Cruz just signed and will be a weapon for whoever starts.
